Spa Break & Day Terms and Conditions

We want you to enjoy your Spa Day or Break in full, to do this there are a small number of simple Terms & Conditions that are important for you to read before booking. If you have any questions about these don’t hesitate to contact our Spa Reception who will be happy to assist you.

  • Booking, Payment & Cancellations

    Spa Breaks:

    For bookings of between 1 and 4 guests a full pre-payment is required at time of booking.  This payment is non-refundable and non-transferable.

    For bookings of 4 or more guests a non-refundable deposit of £20.00 per person is required on booking to secure your reservation.  The balance is required to be settled a minimum of 4 weeks prior to arrival.  The balance once paid is non-refundable or transferable.

    Spa Days: 

    A full pre-payment is required at time of booking.  This payment is non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • Check-in & Check-out

    Spa Breaks:

    All guests to arrive to Spa Reception for check-in, check-out on the morning of departure is at Hotel Reception.  You may check-in to your bedroom from 2:30pm onward and we kindly request that you check-out before 10:30am.

    Guests have access to the Destination Spa Suite from 10:30am, unless otherwise stated on your confirmation letter/email, until 6pm on day of arrival.  Access to the Leisure Facilities is from 10:30am on day of arrival until 10:30am on day of departure, unless otherwise stated.

    Spa Days:

    All guests are to arrive to Spa Reception for check-in.  You may arrive from 10:00am and you will have access to both the Destination Spa Experience and Leisure Facilities until 6pm, unless otherwise stated on your confirmation letter/email.


    Should you wish to add a Treatment to your Day or Break, please note full pre-payment is required at time of booking.  As a courtesy to our customers, a prompt appointment schedule is to be adhered to. Late arrivals for a treatment appointment may result in the Spa being unable to provide the treatment(s) booked or treatment time may be reduced.

  • General Terms & Conditions


    Ardencote is committed to meeting all of its customers’ needs.  We would ask anyone wishing to use our facilities, or their carer or supporter, to contact us with any specific needs. We will make every effort to meet the needs as explained to us and will not shy away from extra effort to deliver Hospitality.  If mobility is a problem, we can provide solutions to help you get the service you need. We can help you to get the most out of your time with us.

    Smoking Policy: 

    Ardencote is a no-smoking venue. There are specifically designed smoking areas located within the grounds.


    It is company policy that we are unable to provide services to guests accompanied by children. Spa treatments and subsequently Spa Days are not available for persons under 18 years of age.

    Special Health Considerations:

    Please advise us if you are pregnant, have muscle or joint injury, have high or low blood pressure, are currently under the supervision of your GP, have had recent surgery (including laser, plastic surgery or are using Retinol-A, Acutan) or you have any other conditions that may affect our ability to perform your requested treatment.  Please note that our trained Spa Team will ask you a series of health questions on booking.

    Pregnancy Policy:

    Our policy states we will not carry out any treatments during the first trimester of pregnancy. After this, we can offer the following treatments; Time for Mum Massage, Manicures, Pedicures, Specific facials and specific massages. Please enquire at the time of booking.

    Essential Oils:

    Many essential oils can help to soothe and balance hormones, but there are a number of oils that are just too stimulating and get quickly absorbed into the blood stream which may harm your baby. It is therefore Ardencote’s policy, that we use only a plain massage oil base without the use of aromatherapy oils on both the body and face when treating a pregnant client.

To ensure that you have everything you need for your time at Ardencote Spa and so that you get the maximum benefits from the facilities, we kindly request that you take some time to read through our Spa Etiquette.

  • Spa Facilities

    Destination Spa: 

    Please note that the Destination Spa is only available to adults over the age of 18.

    To gain the maximum benefits of your Spa Experience please observe the following etiquette:

    • Please shower prior to entering the Destination Spa Facilities in order to wash off any excess oils, creams etc. on your skin
    • For hygiene reasons please keep your slippers on whilst enjoying the Himalayan Salt and Outdoor Tyrolean Saunas
    • Please ensure that you use the towels provided to sit on the benches in the Sauna
    • We advise all guests to limit their time in the Steam Rooms and Saunas to a maximum of 15 minutes in each facility and 30 minutes in the Outdoor Hot Tub and Indoor Jacuzzi
    • It is important to stay hydrated during your visit to the Spa by drinking plenty of water

    Changing Room: 

    Towels, showers, hairdryers, lockers and changing rooms are provided by Ardencote Spa.

  • What to Wear

    Comfortable lounge clothing is recommended throughout the day. We suggest that swimming costumes/trunks are brought for use in the wet areas and a second pair bought for use in the dry areas.  Suitable footwear must be worn at all times, barefoot is not permitted. Slippers  and Robes are provided in our Spa Break and Day Packages to help you feel comfortable during your time at Ardencote Spa.

  • Spa Treatments

    It is advisable to arrive to the Spa 5/10 minutes before your scheduled treatment time, to allow you time to complete your Spa Consultation Form.

    Consultation Cards:

    Ensuring our guest’s safety is crucial. A Guest Consultation Form must be completed before each and every treatment begins.

    Late Arrival: 

    When a late arrival is unavoidable, please call to notify the receptionist as soon as possible. Arriving late will simply limit the time for your treatment, as we must complete your personal service by the designated end time in order to appropriately accommodate the next guest.


    Avoid shaving the day of appointment especially if you are having body scrubs, body wraps or a pedicure. Also shaving causes pores to open, which can then become infected. Waxing treatments are not recommended should you be using the wet/heat areas. It is recommended that men shave at least twenty four hours prior to a facial treatment.


    It is a company policy that all clients wishing to have a tinting treatment must have a patch test 24 hours prior to the treatment in case of an allergic reaction.

  • Polite Notice

    Alcohol & Food: 

    Ardencote is a fully licensed premises; it is against the Hotel’s policy for guests to bring alcohol or food onto the premises for personal consumption.


    We kindly request that you keep noise to a minimum whilst using Ardencote Spa facilities. We want you  to enjoy your time at Ardencote Spa, so conversation is fine but please be respectful of other clients who may be having a post treatment rest.  Your mobile phone must be turned off or set to silent while in the Spa and relaxation areas.


    Please note that luggage of any size will not be allowed in the Destination Spa facilities. Should you require any items from your luggage, please do so before entering the facilities.
