National Plate Award
To add to the West Midland League title Ardencote Racketball have added the prestigious National Plate. Games against Cleaver and away at Tring set up a final at the Sheffield Hallamshire Club against local favourites Brampton Manor from Chesterfield. The final promised much and did not disappoint with the possibility of League and Cup double Ardencote set about their opponents in the early exchanges with Guy Pearson dominating his opponent to win 3-0. On the other court Jon Summers was playing well and working hard, he made it to match point but could not convert and was unlucky to lose 2-3. Despite a couple of tie break sets Matt Pugh went down 0-3 putting the pressure on the two remaining rubbers. Paul Chadwick took the lead and never looked back returning a 3-0 victory. The Championship would rest on the final game of the season and at 1-2 down it wasn't looking good for the Cote but Rich Lucas found the energy and desire from somewhere to win 3-2 and give Ardencote the National Racketball Plate.
